INSPIRED PHILOSOPHY
01. THE PROGRAM OF INQUIRY – INSPIRED PHILOSOPHY
Inquiry, as the leading pedagogical approach based on the works of Piaget, Dewey, Vygotsky, recognizes students as being actively involved in their own learning and taking responsibility for that learning. Early years learning is approached with a spirit of inquiry. Drawing from the transdisciplinary themes and students’ interests, inquiry is an authentic way for students to relate to, explore and understand the world around them.
Connecting passion with intention, the inquiry process builds capacity through student agency where voice, choice and ownership feature strongly. Early years teachers and students collaborate to plan for inquiry through a wide range of strategies, tools and practices that suit learning goals, reflect the learner profile, respond to students’ interests and understandings, and the school’s culture and context.
02. STEAM EDUCATION (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS & MATHEMATICS)
Our STEAM program focuses on age and developmentally-appropriate hands-on learning and innovative teaching methods.
Developed in 2006 by Georgette Yakman, it allows students to connect their learning with arts practices, mathematical elements, scientific principles, and innovative technological designs that removes limitations and replaces them with wonder, critique, inquiry, and innovation.
The program nurture their interests in these fields for a possible careers in STEAM .
03. ARTS EDUCATION
Our Music and Arts Enrichment program draws inspiration from Malaguzzi, who developed a theory incorporating ideas from Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson, and Dewey.
Malaguzzi believed in helping children learn by allowing them to experience and express the world through different art forms such as painting, drama, and music. In alignment with this philosophy, our Music and Arts Enrichment programs provide children with a nurturing environment to unleash their creativity through various activities including drawing, painting, sculpting, and playing music.
04. LANGUAGE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
Our Language enrichment program encourages students to explore languages beyond their mother tongue, an inspiration drawn from Krashen, one of the most prominent proponents of the nativist hypothesis, which holds that humans are born with the potential to acquire a language.
Our program fosters language proficiency, cultural appreciation, and cross-cultural communication and equips students with language skills for global communication and a deeper understanding of diverse cultures.
05. PHYSICAL EDUCATION & SPORTS
Our Physical Education program emphasizes the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. As noted by early childhood theorist Jean Piaget, physical activity is crucial for the development of gross motor skills, coordination, and overall physical health in young children.
Our Physical Education program offers a range of age and developmentally – appropriate activities utilizing rich sensory materials to promote physical well-being, resilience and leadership skills.
06. HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAM (SOCIO-EMOTIONAL LESSONS)
Our health and Wellness program advocates early childhood theorist Erik Erikson’s emphasis on the importance of emotional well-being for cognitive development.
We believe that integrating Social-Emotional Lessons (SEL) into academic curriculum provides a positive emotional climate in the class is crucial for learning. We align with Erikson’s theory by incorporating practices like brain breaks, yoga, and mindfulness to promote optimal learning experiences for young children.
CURRICULUM
Inquiry curriculum/ Giáo trình truy vấn
Our Inquiry Curriculum encourages a questioning mindset as students explore various themes and interests. It cultivates capacity through student agency their voice, choice and ownership in learning.
Teachers and students collaborate to plan inquiry activities that support learning objectives, reflect the learners’ profile, and embody the school’s culture and context.
Enrichment Programs/ Hoạt động kỹ năng
Our Enrichment programs encourages the young minds to pursue their specific interest in Language, Music, Arts and Physical Fitness, to freely express themselves and to explore their creativity by providing them a stimulating environment with wide variety of rich sensorial materials.
Global Perspective/ Công dân toàn cầu
We cultivate global mindset by prioritizing cultural awareness, open-mindedness, adaptability, interpersonal skills, global awareness, and strategic thinking. These qualities enable us to effectively work, collaborate, and engage with a diverse range of individuals and organizations on a global scale.
